SMS Opt-Out & How to Re-Subscribe¶
If you've stopped receiving text messages from NotaryDash, you may have accidentally opted out. This article explains how opt-outs happen and how to turn texts back on.
How Opt-Outs Happen¶
Replying STOP to any text message from a NotaryDash number automatically unsubscribes your phone number from that sender. This is a carrier-level requirement — all business SMS senders must honor STOP replies — and it takes effect immediately.
You may not have intended to opt out. It can happen if you replied STOP while trying to respond to someone else, if someone else used your phone, or if a spam filter or message app sent an automated STOP reply on your behalf.
Once you've opted out, you will not receive any further texts from that NotaryDash number. For notaries, this means missing order invitations and appointment reminders. For signers, this means missing appointment confirmations.
How to Re-Subscribe¶
To start receiving texts again:
- Open the text message thread from the NotaryDash number that sent you messages previously.
- Send a new text with only the word: START
- That's it. Your number will be re-enrolled and text delivery will resume.
You will not receive a confirmation reply after sending START — this is normal. The opt-in is processed silently at the carrier level. You should begin receiving NotaryDash texts again as normal order events occur.

If You Can't Identify the Number¶
If you don't have the original text thread and can't find which number sent you NotaryDash messages:
- Check your phone's blocked or filtered message folders — the original thread may be there.
- Contact support at support@notarydash.com and ask which number is associated with your account's SMS notifications. Support can identify this for you.
Verify Your Phone Number Is Correct¶
Even after re-subscribing, texts won't arrive if the phone number on your NotaryDash profile is wrong. To check:
- Log in to NotaryDash.
- Go to your profile or account settings.
- Confirm the phone number listed is your current mobile number.
- If it's incorrect, update it and save.

An incorrect number means the platform is sending texts to someone else's phone (or no one's). Fixing the number in your profile is required before SMS delivery will work correctly.
